He is in Herod’s prison and he has been there for some time. In fact, after about 16 months of incarceration, John was beheaded. As he sits in that dungeon, Satan has time to introduce doubt into the mind of John concerning the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. So, John begins to question whether or not Jesus is really the Messiah. Of course, John had not always doubted! There was a time early in the ministry of our Lord that John was well acquainted with just Who Jesus was, John 1:29; John 3:30.

Now, there is a little question in His mind. So, John sends his disciples to ask Jesus if He is the messiah or not. Jesus responds by telling John’s disciples to go an tell John that Jesus is healing the sick, raising the dead and preaching the Gospel to sinners. In other words, Jesus is telling John, “I’m Him!“

I want you to know that there are times when I can sympathize with John. Surely, we all entertain doubts every now and then. If it were possible, I would like to go to John this morning and have him take a little trip with me. If I could, I would take John to some places and show him some things about Jesus. When I had done that I can almost hear John saying now, “That’s Him! That’s Him!“. Well, I can’t take John to those places this morning, but I can take us. If you will, come along with me this morning, I want to take you on a little trip and show you some truths about Jesus that should leave us all saying, “That’s Him!“

I. THAT’S HIM IN CREATION

(I’d Take you Back To The Beginning)

A. His Presence In Creation – (Gen. 1:1)

B. His Power In Creation – (Col. 1:16; John 1:10)

C. His Purpose In Creation – (Gen. 1:26)

I. That’s Him In Creation

II. THAT’S HIM IN THE CRADLE

(I’d Take You Back To Bethlehem – Luke 2:1-10)

A. The Mystery Of His Birth – (John 1:1, 14; Phil. 2:5-8)

B. The Ministry Of His Birth – (Matt. 1:21; Luke 19:10; Matt. 20:28)

C. The Majesty Of His Birth – (Phil. 2:5-8)

         I. That’s Him In Creation

II. That’s Him In The Cradle

III. THAT’S HIM IN CONTROL

(I’d Take You Down To The Bottom Of Life)

A. He Controls Disaster – (John 6:15-21)

B. He Controls Difficulties – (Ill.
