The word used is quite distinct from that in <span class='bible'>2Ki 24:14<\/span>, <span class='bible'>2Ki 24:16<\/span>. It refers, not to bodily strength or fitness for war, hut to civil rank or dignity. We might render: <em>Yea,<\/em> he carried away; for <span class='bible'>2Ki. 24:15-16<\/span> simply give the <em>particulars<\/em> of what was stated generally in <span class='bible'>2Ki. 24:14<\/span>. In the present verse the princes are defined.<\/p>\n<p><strong>He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the kings mother.<\/strong>Fulfilment of <span class='bible'>Jer. 22:24-27<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The mighty of the land.<\/strong>So the Targum, the magnates of the land.
