Reaiah is the same with Haroeh, <span class='bible'>1Ch 2:52<\/span> the names are of the same signification:<\/p>\n<p><strong>and Jahath begat Ahumai, and Lahad. As to Reaiah the son of Shobal, see <span class='bible'>1Ch 2:52<\/span>. He begat Jahath, a name often occurring in Levite families, cf. <span class='bible'>1Ch 6:5<\/span>, <span class='bible'>1Ch 6:28<\/span>; <span class='bible'>1Ch 23:10<\/span>., <span class='bible'>1Ch 24:22<\/span>, <span class='bible'>2Ch 34:12<\/span>; but of the descendant of David who bore this name nothing further is known. His sons Ahumai and Lahad founded the families of the Zorathites, i.e., the inhabitants of Zora, who also, according to <span class='bible'>1Ch 2:53<\/span>, were descended from sons of Shobal. The present verse supplements the data of <span class='bible'>1 Chronicles 2<\/span>, by putting the clans of Zorah in immediate genealogical connection with Shobal. Here several families of that tribe settled; who were descended from Jahath, Ahumai, and Lahad, the sons and grandsons of Shobal.
