A son of Hezron by Abiah, <span class='bible'>1Ch 2:24<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>had two wives, Helah and Naarah<\/strong>; as Lamech had, polygamy not being reckoned unlawful in those times.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><em> Sons of Ashur<\/em>, the father of Tekoa, who, according to <span class='bible'>1Ch 2:24<\/span>, was a posthumous son of Hezron. Ashur had two wives, Helah and Naarah. Of the latter came four sons and as many families: Ahuzam, of whom nothing further is known; Hepher, also unknown, but to be distinguished from the Gileadite of the same name in <span class='bible'>1Ch 11:36<\/span> and <span class='bible'>Num 26:32<\/span>. The conjecture that the name is connected wit the land of Hepher (<span class='bible'>1Ki 4:10<\/span>), the territory of a king conquered by Joshua (<span class='bible'>Jos 12:17<\/span>) (Berth.), is not very well supported. Temani (man of the south) may be simply the name of a person, but it is probably, like the following, the name of a family. If Ashur means the Hurites, the two wives, Helah and Naarah, may designate two settlements of this great clan.<\/p>\n<p>(6) <strong>Hepher.<\/strong>A district of southern Judah, near Tappuach (<span class='bible'>Jos. 12:17<\/span>; <span class='bible'>1Ki. 4:10<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Temeni<\/strong> is a Gentilic name, formed from the word Tmn, the south. This clan was called the Southrons, and doubtless lived with the others in the south of Judah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Haahashtari<\/strong> is another <em>nomen gentilicium,<\/em> meaning the Ahashtarites (muleteers; comp. <span class='bible'>Est. 8:10<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>(7) The sons of Helah are unknown from other sources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jezoar<\/strong> should be Zohar, according to the Hebrew margin. The Heb. text has Izhar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ethnan.<\/strong><em>Harlots hire<\/em> (<span class='bible'>Hos. 9:1<\/span>).
