Cp. also <span class='bible'>1Ch 27:8<\/span> (&ldquo;Shamhuth the Izrahite&rdquo;), where the same person seems to be meant. &ldquo;Elika the Harodite&rdquo; (Sam.) is not found in Chron.<\/p>\n<p><em> Helez the Pelonite<\/em> ] Cp. <span class='bible'>1Ch 27:10<\/span>, where he is described as a captain of the children of Ephraim. A place called Harod occurs in <span class='bible'>Jdg. 7:1<\/span>. (Comp. also <span class='bible'>1Ch. 27:8<\/span>, Note.) <span class='bible'>2Sa. 23:26<\/span> adds another Harodite, Elika (? Elikam), omitted here by accident.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Helez the Pelonite.<\/strong>Samuel, the Paltite, perhaps more correctly. The Syriac and Arabic read of Palton and Faltna. Bethpelet was a town of Judah (<span class='bible'>Neh. 11:26<\/span>), but <span class='bible'>1Ch. 27:10<\/span> calls Helez the Pelonite of the sons of Ephraim.
