(15) The sons<\/strong> of Moses.<\/strong>See Exo. 2:22<\/span> for Gershom, Exo. 18:3-4<\/span> for both. Gershom means expulsion (comp <\/span>Gen. 3:24<\/span>), and is a variant form of Gcrshon. What is said in Exo. 2:22<\/span> is an allusive play on the name, not a derivation of it. Eliezer, God is help,<\/em> a distinct name from Eleazar (1Ch. 23:22<\/span>), God hath helped,<\/em> or, is a helper.
