As if he said, The greatness of my kingdom, the prowess of my warriors, the splendour and majesty of my throne, are thine, for thine are all things.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greatness.<\/strong><em>Gdullh,<\/em> a late word. (Comp. <span class='bible'>Psa. 71:21<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Psa. 145:3<\/span>.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Power.<\/strong>Strictly, <em>manly strength;<\/em> then valour, prowess (<span class='bible'>Psa. 21:13<\/span>). Victory is the meaning of the word in Syriac, and so the LXX. and Vulg. render here. But the Syriac version has beauty. or glory. With the whole ascription, comp. <span class='bible'>Rev. 4:11<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Rev. 5:12<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Rev. 7:12<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All that is in the heavens . . . is thine.<\/strong>The pronoun (<em>lk<\/em>) seems to have fallen out before the following: <em><\/em>Thine (<em>lk<\/em>) is the kingdom. (Comp. for the idea <span class='bible'>Psa. 89:11<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Psa. 24:1<\/span>.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>The kingdom.<\/strong>The universal sovereignty (<span class='bible'>Psa. 96:10<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Psa. 97:1<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Psa. 22:28<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thou art exalted as head above all.<\/strong>Lit., <em>And the self-exalted over all as head<\/em> (<em>art thou<\/em>)<em>.<\/em> (Comp. <span class='bible'>Num. 16:3<\/span>.) Here also the pronoun <em>(tth<\/em>) may have been lost at the end.
