The chronicler has softened the severity of the expression, <em>cut off Israel.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Will I cast out of my sight.<\/strong>Vulg. more literally, projiciam a facie mea. The exact phrase occurs nowhere else; but comp. <span class='bible'>Psa. 51:13<\/span>, which is very similar; also <span class='bible'>Psa. 102:11<\/span>. Instead of <em>ashlik,<\/em> I will cast, Kings has <em>ashallah,<\/em> I will send, <em>i.e.,<\/em> throw (<span class='bible'>Amo. 2:5<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>And will make it.<\/strong>A softening down of, <em>and Israel shall become<\/em> (Kings).
