The place of our Lord&#8217;s birth, about six miles from Jerusalem:<\/p>\n<p><strong>and Etam<\/strong>; another city in the tribe of Judah; see <span class='bible'>1Ch 4:32<\/span>, there was a rock of this name, <span class='bible'>Jud 15:8<\/span> and a fountain from whence waters were conveyed into the pool at Jerusalem, spoken of in Jewish writings b:<\/p>\n<p><strong>and Tekoah<\/strong>; of which place Amos the prophet was, and which was about twelve miles from Jerusalem. Here he found &ldquo;traces of an ancient site the foundations of a square tower, a low thick wall of large squared stones, rocks hewn and scarped, and the like.&rdquo; Tobler, however, identifies Etam with Ain Attan, a little-south-west of Urtas. Comp. note on <span class='bible'>Jdg 15:8<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p><strong> Tekoa <\/strong> Twelve miles south of Jerusalem. See on <span class='bible'>2Sa 14:2<\/span>.
