Rehoboam’s fortresses (which were scattered all over the country and were not placed on the borders only) were intended to keep Judah in subjection. His appointment of military governors (2Ch 11:11<\/span>) and his dispersion of his sons among the fortresses (2Ch 11:23<\/span>) were also parts of the same policy of preparedness to put down revolt.<\/p>\n In every several city, <\/B>to wit, so fortified, as he said, 2Ch 11:11<\/span> <\/P> <\/p>\n And in every several city he put shields and spears<\/strong>,….
