Thought by some to be Absalom the son of David, his father&#8217;s brother, and his uncle, and so married his cousin; but Absalom seems to have had but one daughter, whose name was Tamar, <span class='bible'>2Sa 14:27<\/span>, and the name of this man is different from his; he is called Abishalom, <span class='bible'>1Ki 15:2<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>and Uriel of Gibeah<\/strong>; <span class='bible'>2Ch 13:2<\/span>, of the tribe of Benjamin, whereas Absalom was of the tribe of Judah:<\/p>\n<p><strong>which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith<\/strong>: Abijah the firstborn, and who was successor in the kingdom, is the same with Abijam, <span class='bible'>1Ki 14:31<\/span> of the rest we nowhere else read.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> Maachah the daughter, i.e., the granddaughter, of Absalom; for she cannot have been Absalom&#8217;s daughter, because Absalom, according to <span class='bible'>2Sa 14:27<\/span>, had only one daughter, Tamar by name, who must have been fifty years old at Solomon&#8217;s death. According to <span class='bible'>2Sa 18:18<\/span>, Absalom left no son; Maachah therefore can only be a daughter of Tamar, who, according to <span class='bible'>2Ch 13:2<\/span>, was married to Uriel of Gibeah: see on <span class='bible'>1Ki 15:2<\/span>.
