In such a place a large force might easily be discomfited by a few resolute men (cp. <span class='bible'>2Sa 17:9-10<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p><em> of Zephathah at Mareshah<\/em> ] Read with LXX., <strong> north of Mareshah<\/strong> (&ldquo;Zaphonah&rdquo; for &ldquo;Zephathah&rdquo;). No valley or town called &ldquo;Zephathah&rdquo; is known.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: The Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><P STYLE=\"text-indent: 0.75em\">The valley of Zephathah &#8211; not elsewhere mentioned &#8211; is probably the broad Wady which opens out from Mareshah (marginal reference) in a northwesterly direction, leading into the great Philistine plain. The LXX. reads:      , in the ravine north of Mareshah. This would involve a change of one letter in the present Hebrew.
