And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day, when thou shalt go to an inner chamber to hide thyself. And the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king&#8217;s son; and say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction,[5] until I return in peace. Bread and water of affliction means the coarse fare often served to prisoners. This was a threat of humiliation to be imposed on Micaiah. <\/p>\n<p>2Ch 18:27. Micaiah staked his reputation as a true prophet on the outcome of the venture that Ahab was about to make.
