Thenius questions the fact, on the supposed grounds(1) that the high priest did not live in the Temple; but the passage he alleges (Neh. 3:20-21<\/span>) does not prove this for Jehoiada; and (2) that the chronicler contradicts himself in asserting that the priests wife also lived within the sacred precinct; but again his reference (2Ch. 8:11<\/span>) is irrelevant. Ewald calls the statement in question genuinely historical; and there is not the smallest reason to doubt it.<\/p>\n 2Ch 22:11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber.
