Jeremiah had used it before (<span class='bible'>Jer. 8:22<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Jer. 30:17<\/span>; comp. also <span class='bible'>Isa. 58:8<\/span>) of the national restoration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And they set the house of God in his state.<\/strong>Rather, <em>and they made the house of God to stand according to the measure thereof, i.e.,<\/em> in its original proportions. (Comp. <span class='bible'>Exo. 30:32<\/span> : <em>mthkoneth, <\/em>measure, proportion.) This verse is not read in Kings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Before the king and Jehoiada.<\/strong>The expression appears to be characteristic of the present account. (Comp.
