The same verb is used in <span class='bible'>Neh 1:3<\/span> (&ldquo;broken down&rdquo;) and <em> ibid.<\/em> <span class='bible'>Neh 4:7<\/span> (&ldquo;the breaches&rdquo;).<\/p>\n<p><em> the gate of Ephraim<\/em> ] This gate cannot be identified, but its name suggests that it was on the north.<\/p>\n<p><em> the corner gate<\/em> ] Heb. text doubtful, but LXX.    . (See Note on <span class='bible'>2Ch. 21:17<\/span>.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>The corner gate.<\/strong>So <span class='bible'>2Ki. 14:13<\/span>, rightly. Our Hebrew text has, gate of the turning one, or gate that turneth; which would require some word indicating the direction of the turning. (Comp. <span class='bible'>Eze. 8:3<\/span>, gate that turneth northward.) Some MSS., and all the versions, agree with Kings. It is merely a matter of different points.
