It is stated in <span class='bible'>Num 26:11<\/span> that the sons of Kora did not perish with their father (<span class='bible'>Num 16:32<\/span>); and Koraites are mentioned in <span class='bible'>Num 26:58<\/span>. In much later days the Koraites acted as gate-keepers in the Temple (<span class='bible'>1Ch 9:19<\/span>; <span class='bible'>1Ch 26:1-19<\/span>), and also, probably (cf. <span class='bible'>2Ch 20:19<\/span>; and the titles of Psalms 42, 44-49, 84, 85, 87, 88), assisted in some way in the worship of the Temple. The eldest son of Izhar, who, though he proved a bad man, yet many of his posterity were good men, and are often mentioned in general in the titles of some of the psalms of David: the immediate sons of Korah were<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph<\/strong>.
