Strictly speaking, the bases (<span class='bible'>1Ki. 7:27<\/span>) were under the ten lavers which were used for washing the meat for the sacrifices, and the twelve bulls (<span class='bible'>1Ki. 7:25<\/span>) supported the molten sea, or bigger laver, for the priests ablutions; <span class='bible'>2Ki. 16:17<\/span> suggests the thought that the bulk of the bronze had been removed by Ahaz and given to Tiglath Pileser, though possibly not taken away by him.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Ellicott&#8217;s Commentary for English Readers (Old and New Testaments)<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p>the shovels, &amp;c.
