God was telling him that this was his mission, to prophesy to the dried out house of Israel in exile. They were like these bones, dry and lifeless. And he had to proclaim to them that God was going to do all that was necessary to enable them to again enter the land, and that He would revive them spiritually.<\/p>\n<p> We may well parallel this with <span class='bible'>Genesis 2<\/span> and see in this a new beginning, almost a new creation. But the parallel is not quite as clear as it seems, for different Hebrew words are used for &lsquo;breath&rsquo; and the first man was made of dust of the ground.<\/p>\n<p>&lsquo;And you will know that I am Yahweh.&rsquo; This may have been directed at Ezekiel, but more probably it was directed at the people Through what would happen they would recognise the living power of Yahweh.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Commentary Series on the Bible by Peter Pett<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> When the Lord commanded the Prophet to prophesy or preach to the dry bones; had he been one of our modern preachers, who call themselves rational Christians, and affect to despise all doctrines their understandings cannot comprehend and explain; I fear the Prophet, instead of obeying the Lord&#8217;s command, of prophesying to them would have presumed to have reasoned with his Maker of the absurdity of so doing. In the preceding chapter the Lord directed a prophecy to the land of Israel, in this He addresses Israel herself Who Is in the form of dry bones.
