The Septuagint version renders it, &#8220;I will send a fire on Gog&#8221;; but he before is said to fall upon the mountains of Israel; his country is meant; it designs the destruction of the Ottoman empire:<\/p>\n<p><strong>and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles<\/strong>: that belong to the Turkish dominions; not only the habitants of the Continent shall be consumed, but those that dwell in islands, and think themselves safe and secure, and so live carelessly; or such who live on the sea coasts, it being usual in Scripture to call such places isles; and may intend those who dwell near the Exine and Caspian seas:<\/p>\n<p><strong>and they shall know that I am the Lord<\/strong>: by his judgments executed upon them.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p>(6) <strong>A fire on Magog.<\/strong>Magog is the country of Gog (<span class='bible'>Eze. 38:1<\/span>), and the Divine judgment is to fall therefore not only upon the army in the land of Israel, but also upon the far-distant country of Gog. In <span class='bible'>Rev. 20:9<\/span> this fire is represented as coming down from God out of heaven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the isles.<\/strong>This common Scriptural expression for the remoter parts of the earth is added here to show the universality of the judgment upon all that is hostile to the kingdom of God.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Ellicott&#8217;s Commentary for English Readers (Old and New Testaments)<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> <strong> 6-7<\/strong>. <strong> <\/strong> God&rsquo;s wrath follows the invaders even to their own land, and the rain of fire (<span class='bible'>Eze 38:22<\/span>) falls upon those who have remained at home, dwelling &ldquo;securely&rdquo; in their distant <strong> isles <\/strong> (or, <em> coast lands<\/em>), in order that they, too, may recognize Jehovah&rsquo;s holiness and never &ldquo;profane&rdquo; his name by supposing that the people who trust in him can be defeated (<span class='bible'>Eze 39:23<\/span>; see note <span class='bible'>Eze 36:20<\/span>).<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Whedon&#8217;s Commentary on the Old and New Testaments<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> &ldquo;And I will send a fire on Magog, and on those who dwell securely on the isles\/coastlands, and they will know that I am Yahweh.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p> We note now an expansion of God&rsquo;s judgments. The lands of those who attacked his people will likewise suffer (compare the vivid picture in <span class='bible'>Jdg 5:28-30<\/span>). They thought that they were safe because of their massive forces, and awaited the return of the armies with great booty. But instead they will have to recognise the power of Yahweh&rsquo;s judgments. The furthest peoples will be involved. God&rsquo;s judgments are far reaching and total.<\/p>\n<p> The isles and coastlands (the peoples across the seas) have not previously been mentioned. Magog is the country from where the above army of invasion came. Its people were dwelling carelessly which means they were feeling secure and were not thoughtful of any possible danger.
