The sin-offering was burnt wholly in a place outside the whole temple area, i.e. outside the space enclosed by the 500 cubits square wall (<span class='bible'>Eze 42:16<\/span> <em> seq<\/em>.), possibly in the space of 50 cubits (<span class='bible'>Eze 45:2<\/span>) lying round the outer wall. Which was appointed for the sin offering, according to the divine direction, <span class='bible'>Eze 43:19<\/span>, the prophet was to take it out of the herd, and separate it from the rest for this purpose, and deliver it into the hands of one of the priests:<\/p>\n<p><strong>and he shall burn it in the appointed place of the house<\/strong>; that is, one of the sons of Zadok should receive it of the prophet, and burn it in its proper place; not within the house, without the court, but within the wall of the house: this burning of it was typical of the dolorous sufferings of Christ; <span class='bible'>[See comments on Eze 40:39]<\/span>, or of the zeal and fervency of the ministers of the Gospel, in preaching a crucified Christ in the proper place, in the house and church of God: without the sanctuary; the holy place or temple, properly so called; or without the camp, typical of Christ&#8217;s suffering without Jerusalem, and of his being preached not only there, but in the Gentile world; see <span class='bible'>Heb 13:11<\/span>, this was the work of the first day of the consecration of the altar.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p>(21) <strong>Burn it in the appointed place.<\/strong>The flesh of the ordinary sin offerings was to be eaten by the priests; but when the victim was a bullock, as in case of a sin offering for the high priest (<span class='bible'>Lev. 4:3<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Lev. 4:11-12<\/span>), or for the whole congregation (<span class='bible'>Lev. 4:13<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Lev. 4:20<\/span>), it was to be burned without the camp. Appointed place denotes that the sacrificial services could not be performed at just any place that might suit the worshiper.
