The use of “sanctuary” in the sense of sacred territory can hardly be supported by evidence, though the idea of a sacred territory around a sacred house or locality is a common one in the East. LXX. reads: a place for houses set apart for their sanctity, i.e. possibly: houses set apart for them (the priests), they being holy. It is ‘a holy place for the sanctuary’ (this is in such contrast to Eze 42:20). And in this holy portion the priests are to build their houses, away from the city, totally separated to Yahweh. In other words the hearts of the priests are to be totally wedded to the heavenly sanctuary with their lives centred on it. This is to be man’s ideal. It is incipiently pointing to the Kingly Rule of God. ‘Seek first His Kingly Rule and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Mat 6:33).

Fuente: Commentary Series on the Bible by Peter Pett

Eze 45:4 The holy [portion] of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the LORD: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.

Ver. 4. And it shall be a place for their houses. ] Ministers should he resident upon their charges, and as incumbent, dwell near, and as it were lean over their work.

Fuente: John Trapp’s Complete Commentary (Old and New Testaments)

shall be = it [shall be].

the LORD.
