Manasseh<\/B>The intercourseand unity between the two and a half tribes east of the Jordan, andthe nine and a half west of it, had been much kept up by thesplitting of Manasseh, causing the visits of kinsmen one to the otherfrom both sides of the Jordan. This division of the land entirely differs from that which was made in the days of Joshua, in which the tribes were not only differently placed, but confused and inter-mixed; while here distinct lots are assigned to each of the twelve tribes, in a regular mathematical form.
