Oil therefore is to be provided for the lighting. Later on (<span class='bible'>Exo. 27:20<\/span>) it is laid down that the oil must be pure olive oil beaten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spices for anointing oil.<\/strong>Rather, <em>for the anointing oil. <\/em>Here, again, there is an assumption that anointing oil will be needed, and that spices will be a necessary ingredient in such oil. We find afterwards that the Tabernacle itself, all its vessels, and the priests appointed to serve in it, had to be consecrated by anointing (<span class='bible'>Exo. 29:7<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Exo. 29:36<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Exo. 30:26-30<\/span>). The particular spices to be mixed with the anointing oil are enumerated in <span class='bible'>Exo. 30:23-24<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And for sweet incense.<\/strong>Rather, <em>for the sweet incensethe <\/em>incense, <em>i.e., <\/em>which would have to be burnt.
