That is, another servant, or set of men, it may be in the times of the Maccabees, who were used in a very inhuman manner; see <span class='bible'>Heb 11:37<\/span>;<\/p>\n<p><strong>and him they killed<\/strong>; either with the sword, or by inflicting some capital punishment, as stoning, strangling, c.<\/p>\n<p><strong>and many others<\/strong> that is, either the owner of the vineyard sent many other servants, or the husbandmen ill used many others that were sent to them:<\/p>\n<p><strong>beating some<\/strong>; with their hands, or with scourges;<\/p>\n<p><strong>and killing some<\/strong>; in one or other of the above ways.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><P> <B>Beating some and killing some <\/B> (<span class='_800000'><SPAN LANG=\"el-GR\">  ,   <\/SPAN><\/span>). This distributive use of the demonstrative appears also in <span class='bible'>Mt 21:35<\/span> in the singular (<span class='_800000'><SPAN LANG=\"el-GR\"> ,  ,  <\/SPAN><\/span>). The construction is very loose. We naturally think of  .  . as depending on  = he sent many others, and possibly that was really what the evangelist had in his mind, though the following participles,   , suggest a verb, having for its subject the agents these participles refer to = they maltreated many others, beating some and killing some. All these were &#8220;His servants the prophets&#8221; up to John the Baptist.
