The ingenious artificers who were employed, some in one thing, and some in another, either on the tabernacle itself, or the vessels of it, and things appertaining to it;<\/p>\n<p><strong>came every man from his work which they made<\/strong>; left off their work by mutual consent and agreement, and came in a body to Moses.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> Then the wise workmen came, every one from his work that they were making, and said to Moses, &ldquo;<em> Much make the people to bring, more than suffices for the labour<\/em> (the finishing, as in <span class='bible'>Exo 27:19<\/span>) <em> of the work,<\/em> &rdquo; i.e., they are bringing more than will be wanted for carrying out the work (the  in  is comparative); whereupon Moses let the cry go through the camp, i.e., had proclamation made, &ldquo;No one is to make any more property (  as in <span class='bible'>Exo 22:7<\/span>, <span class='bible'>Exo 22:10<\/span>, cf. <span class='bible'>Gen 33:14<\/span>) for a holy heave-offering,&rdquo; i.e., to prepare anything more from his own property to offer for the building of the sanctuary; and with this he put a stop to any further offerings.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Keil &amp; Delitzsch Commentary on the Old Testament<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Verses 4-7:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The workmen soon became encumbered with an over-supply of materials. They came to Moses with a complaint and a request. The complaint: &#8220;We are hampered in our work by too much materials.&#8221; The request: &#8220;Put an end to the offerings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Moses then issued a proclamation throughout the camp, that nothing more was to be brought for the offering to build the sanctuary.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Restrained,&#8221; <strong>kala, <\/strong>&#8220;to confine, withhold.&#8221; The implication is that the people were forcibly prevented from bringing additional materials for the tabernacle.<\/p>\n<p>The joyous liberality of Israel in giving the materials for the tabernacle illustrates the joy which can be found today in giving &#8220;unto the Lord.&#8221; Jesus said, &#8220;It is more blessed to give than to receive,&#8221; Acts 20:35. Many today have not learned this secret. They give &#8220;of necessity,&#8221; out of a sense of duty. Or in giving, they hope to receive something in return. Giving &#8220;unto the Lord&#8221; brings joy, and spiritual prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Stuff,&#8221; <strong>melakah, <\/strong>&#8220;work,&#8221; denoting either the manner of workmanship, occupation, or thing made.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Garner-Howes Baptist Commentary<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> Reader! remark the blessed effects of grace in the heart.
