Took the account of all of a month old in the several houses and families of the tribe of Levi; though Moses is only here mentioned, yet it seems from <span class='bible'>Nu 3:39<\/span>; that Aaron was concerned with him in it; yea, in an after numbering of the Levites who were fit for business from thirty to fifty years of age, the chief of the children of Israel were assisting to him and Aaron, <span class='bible'>Nu 4:46<\/span>;<\/p>\n<p><strong>as he commanded<\/strong>; he was obedient to the divine will in all things, and so in this, though it was his own tribe and his own posterity, which in all successive ages were to be no other than ministering servants to the priests, and to have no inheritance in the land of Israel.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> I do not detain the Reader, through this whole account of the numbering of the Levites, with any observation, in order to avoid the unnecessarily swelling the extent of our Commentary. But I cannot suffer the relation of the sum total to be closed, without calling upon the Reader to remark with me, that from this calculation, it appears the tribe of Levi was the smallest of ail the tribes of Israel.
