Next proceeded the standard of Reuben, having under it the tribes of Simeon and Gad, <span class='bible'>Nu 10:19<\/span>; as &#8220;Reuben&#8221; signifies, &#8220;behold the son&#8221;, and he had the tabernacle borne before him and the holy things behind him, which way soever this camp looked, it had in view what was a type of Christ the Son of God, the object of faith, the ark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>and over his host [was] Elizur the son of Shedeur<\/strong>; over which respective armies were the same captains as in <span class='bible'>Nu 2:10<\/span>;<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Verses 18-21:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Next in the line of march <\/strong>was the &#8220;host&#8221; under the standard or banner of Reuben: the tribes of Reuben, Simeon, and Gad, each tribe under command of its prince, Nu 2:10-16; 1:5, 6, 14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Following the standard of Reuben was the Levite family of Kohath. <\/strong>They carried the &#8220;sanctuary,&#8221; <strong>migdash, <\/strong>in this case refering to the furniture of the Tabernacle, Nu 3:27-32; 4:2-20.<\/p>\n<p>Verse 21 explains the reason for separating the Levite families in the line of march: the Gershonites and Merarites following the first, and the Kohathites following the second &#8220;host.&#8221; This allowed time for the boards and curtains of the Tabernacle to be in place by the time the sacred furniture arrived on the shoulders of the Kohathites.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Garner-Howes Baptist Commentary<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> <strong> The Troops In The Centre of the March (<span class='bible'><strong> Num 10:18-20<\/strong><\/span><\/strong> <strong> ). <\/p>\n<p> <span class='bible'><strong> Num 10:18-20<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style='margin-left:1.8em'>&lsquo;And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.
