(See <span class='bible'>Num. 1:21<\/span>.) Dathan and Abiram had probably enlisted many of the tribe to which they belonged in their rebellion against Moses and Aaron. Some whole households had been destroyed; see <span class='bible'>Num 26:9<\/span>.
