The purpose of inserting this genealogy here seems to have been to prepare the way for the narrative of Isaac&rsquo;s marriage to Rebekah . The only other name in the list of which we have any other trace, is <em> Maachah, <\/em> (<span class='bible'>Gen 22:24<\/span>,) who was, perhaps, the father of the <em> Maachathites <\/em> mentioned <span class='bible'>Deu 3:14<\/span>, and <span class='bible'>Jos 12:5<\/span>.
