The same with Kirjathsepher, of which place, <span class='bible'>[See comments on Jos 10:38]<\/span>;<\/p>\n<p><strong>the king of Geder, one<\/strong>: Jerom h seems to confound this with the tower of Eder, beyond which Jacob pitched his tent, <span class='bible'>Ge 35:21<\/span>; and he speaks of a Gaddera in the tribe of Judah, in his time a village belonging to the country about Aelia or Jerusalem, and of Gahedur in the tribe of Judah, a large village, ten miles from Diospolis or Lydda, as you go to Eleutheropolis: it seems to be the same with Gederah, <span class='bible'>Jos 15:36<\/span>, or Gedor, <span class='bible'>Jos 15:58<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>h De loc. B.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>Ver. <\/em><\/strong><strong>13. <\/strong><strong><em>The king of Geder<\/em><\/strong><strong><\/strong> This is the first and only time that mention is made of a <em>king of Geder. <\/em>This city is in all probability the same as <em>Gedera, Gederothaim, Gederoth <\/em>or <em>Geder, <\/em>in the tribe of Judah, mentioned chap. <span class='bible'>Jos 15:36<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Jos 15:41<\/span>; <span class=''>Jos 15:58<\/span> and <span class='bible'>2Ch 28:18<\/span>. We cannot tell the exact situation of it; but it seems not to have been far distant from Jamnia. Strabo calls it <em>Godara, <\/em>and places it within the territory of Joppa and Jamnia. Bochart says, that all these names carry the idea of cities inclosed with hedges.
