{"id":6236,"date":"2022-09-24T01:31:42","date_gmt":"2022-09-24T06:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/bible-commentary\/exegetical-and-hermeneutical-commentary-of-joshua-1525\/"},"modified":"2022-09-24T01:31:42","modified_gmt":"2022-09-24T06:31:42","slug":"exegetical-and-hermeneutical-commentary-of-joshua-1525","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/bible-commentary\/exegetical-and-hermeneutical-commentary-of-joshua-1525\/","title":{"rendered":"Exegetical and Hermeneutical Commentary of Joshua 15:25"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 align='center'><b><i> And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, [and] Hezron, which [is] Hazor, <\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><P> <B>Hazor, Hadattah<\/B> possibly it should be read as one word, <I>Hazor-hadattah<\/I>, as there is <I>Hazar-gaddah<\/I>, <span class='bible'>Jos 15:27<\/span>, and <I>Hazar-shual<\/I>, <span class='bible'>Jos 15:28<\/span>, such compounded proper names being usual; and this may seem the more probable, because if <I>Hazor<\/I> and <I>Hadattah<\/I> were two different cities, the conjunction <I>and<\/I> would have been put between them, as it is generally in the rest. <\/P> <P><B>Which is Hazor, <\/B>or, <I>which<\/I> also is called <I>Hazor<\/I>; but to distinguish it from the other <I>Hazor<\/I>, <span class='bible'>Jos 15:23<\/span>, this was called also <I>Hezron<\/I>. <\/P> <\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: English Annotations on the Holy Bible by Matthew Poole<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><strong>And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, [and] Hezron, which [is] Hazor.<\/strong> According to the Targum, two cities only are here meant, which reads, &#8220;and Hazorhadattah, and Keriothhezron, which is Hazor&#8221;; and this reading seems to be right; there were three Hazors in this tribe, one in <span class='bible'>Jos 15:23<\/span>, and two more here, which are distinguished; the first is called Hazorhadattah, or new Hazor; of which Jerom says e, there is a village at this day called Asor, in the borders of Ashkelon, to the east of it, which fell to the lot of the tribe of Judah; the Scripture makes mention of it, calling: it new Asor, to distinguish it from the old; and Keriothhezron is the same with Hezron, <span class='bible'>Jos 15:3<\/span>; and had also the name of Hezron.
