It generally occurs in combination with other words, defining the locality as <em> En-gedi, En-gannim, En-hakkore, En-rogel<\/em>. In two cases it stands alone, ( <em> a<\/em>) here, and ( <em> b<\/em>) in <span class='bible'>Num 34:11<\/span>. Mr Wilton ( <em> Negeb<\/em>, pp. 229 234) would here also connect it with the next name; 2. <em> Remmon<\/em>, as the name of a single city, <em> Ain<\/em> or <em> En-Remmon = the spring of the pomegranate<\/em>, and in the catalogue of the places re-occupied by the Jews after the return from the Captivity the two are joined, and appear in our Version as <em> En-Rimmon<\/em>, see <span class='bible'>Neh 11:29<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Nehemiah 3<\/span>. <em> Ether<\/em>, see ch. <span class='bible'>Jos 15:42<\/span> Van de Velde heard of a Tel Athar in the desert country below Hebron; 4. <em> Ashan<\/em>, see above, ch. <span class='bible'>Jos 15:42<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: The Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Ain, Remmon<\/strong>,&#8230;. Ether and Ashan were in the Shephelah (<span class='bible'>Jos 15:42<\/span>). <\/p>\n<p> LXX here combines Ain and Rimmon as one city and includes a further city Tochen (<span class='bible'>1Ch 4:32<\/span>), but in <span class='bible'>1Ch 4:32<\/span> LXX keeps Ain and Rimmon as separate &lsquo;cities&rsquo;.
