His words would bring approving nods from the hearers. They too recognise the importance of marriage within the family. Notice that Abraham speaks of ‘my father’s house’. It is of course now the house of Nahor but Abraham is stressing through his steward that they and he are one household. They are all of the family of Terah. While he may have separated from them, the ties of blood hold firm. Thus he wishes his son to marry within the family.

Fuente: Commentary Series on the Bible by Peter Pett

Gen 24:37 And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:

Ver. 37. See Trapp on “ Gen 24:3 “ See Trapp on “ Gen 24:4 “

Fuente: John Trapp’s Complete Commentary (Old and New Testaments)

And my: Gen 24:2-9, Gen 6:2, Gen 27:46, Ezr 9:1-3

Canaanites: The Canaanites were infected with gross idolatry; and consequently, not proper persons with whom to form so intimate a connection; especially as Jehovah had shown Abraham that they were filling up the measure of their iniquity, and were doomed to destruction.

Reciprocal: Gen 28:1 – Thou shalt Num 12:1 – married 1Sa 25:40 – David sent

Fuente: The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

24:37 And my master made me swear, saying, {s} Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:

(s) The Canaanites were cursed, and therefore the godly could not join with them in marriage.

Fuente: Geneva Bible Notes

And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell: 37.
