The same as  <I>bethulah<\/I>, <span class='bible'>Ge 24:16<\/span>, which, from the explanation there given, incontestably means a <I>virgin<\/I> in the proper sense of the word-a young woman, not that is <I>covered<\/I> or <I>kept at home<\/I>, the common gloss, but who was not <I>uncovered<\/I> in the <I>delicate sense<\/I> in which the Scripture uses this word.
