Which she laid down before her, which was a proof of his kindness to her, that she was acceptable to him, and had well sped; of these six measures, see <span class='bible'>Ru 3:15<\/span> which by some are allegorically interpreted of six blessings that should be bestowed upon her, as the spirit of wisdom, understanding, c. as <span class='bible'>Isa 11:2<\/span> so Jarchi or of six persons that should spring from her, as David, Daniel, and his companions, and the King Messiah, as the Targum:<\/p>\n<p><strong>for he said unto me, go not empty unto thy mother in law<\/strong>; which, as it expressed a regard to Naomi, and a compassionate concern for her support, so would give her assurance of the success Ruth met with, she would relate to her.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> <strong> &lsquo;<\/strong> And she said, &ldquo;He gave me these six measures of barley, for he said, &ldquo;Do not go empty to your mother-in-law.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p> Ruth then produced the six measures of barley explaining that Boaz had said, &ldquo;Do not go empty to your mother-in-law.&rdquo; We must almost certainly see, in view of the next verse, that Naomi recognised in this gift an acceptance by Boaz of the proposal that had been made, a gift assuring her that he would do all that was necessary. Had Boaz been at all offended, or even neutral, he would not have offered such a gift.
