Grown up and marriageable:<\/p>\n<p><strong>and the name of the elder was Leah<\/strong>; which signifies labour or weariness:<\/p>\n<p><strong>and the name of the younger was Rachel<\/strong>; before mentioned, whom Jacob met with at the well, <span class='bible'>Ge 29:10<\/span>; and whose name signifies a sheep, as before observed, <span class='bible'>[See comments on Ge 29:9]<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: John Gill&#8217;s Exposition of the Entire Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<p> &lsquo;And Laban had two daughters, the name of the elder was Leah and the name of the younger was Rachel. And Leah&rsquo;s eyes were tender, but Rachel was beautiful and well-favoured.&rsquo; <\/p>\n<p> The word for &lsquo;tender&rsquo; can mean soft, weak, delicate. This may indicate some weakness in the eye or it may simply mean timid or gentle-eyed (compare <span class='bible'>Deu 28:56<\/span>).
