He was proud of his victory over Edom, and sent to the king of Israel saying, &lsquo;Come let us see one another in the face&rsquo;, and, in spite of the wise message of Jehoash, would come forth to battle and was defeated at Beth-shemesh. Joash took Jerusalem, broke down <I>four hundred<\/I> cubits of the wall, and took all the royal treasures, and the treasures of the house of God.
