Este vocablo, que es com\u00fan tanto en el hebreo moderno como en el antiguo, es la fuente de varios t\u00e9rminos importantes en la historia y experiencia del juda\u00edsmo: \u00abhumilde, manso, pobre y aflicci\u00f3n\u00bb. ‘Anah aparece aproximadamente 80 veces en el Antiguo Testamento hebraico. Se encuentra por primera vez en G\u00e9n 15:13 : \u00abSer\u00e1 oprimida cuatrocientos a\u00f1os\u00bb.<\/p>\n
A menudo ‘anah expresa un tratamiento duro y penoso. Sarai \u00abtrat\u00f3 duramente\u00bb a Agar (G\u00e9n 16:6).
