Este es un verbo sem\u00edtico com\u00fan que se encuentra en el antiguo ac\u00e1dico y ugar\u00edtico y a lo largo del hebreo. Shapak aparece un poco m\u00e1s de 100 veces en el texto de la Biblia hebraica. La primera vez que se usa en el Antiguo Testamento, el vocablo forma parte del principio general sobre el respeto a la vida humana: \u00abEl que derrame sangre de hombre, su sangre ser\u00e1 derramada por hombre\u00bb (G\u00e9n 9:6). Aunque se usa a menudo con este sentido de \u00abderramar\u00bb sangre, el uso com\u00fan del t\u00e9rmino tiene que ver con \u00abverter\u00bb el contenido de un recept\u00e1culo, p. ej. agua (\u00c9xo 4:9; 1Sa 7:6), raspaduras de yeso (Lev 14:41) y libaciones ofrecidas a falsos dioses (Isa 57:6).<\/p>\n
Metaf\u00f3ricamente, shapak se\u00f1ala el \u00abderramamiento\u00bb de la ira de Dios (Ose 5:10), del desprecio (Job 12:21), de la maldad (Jer 14:16) y del Esp\u00edritu de Dios (Eze 39:29).
