In 1790 he was appointed professor of philosophy at Tubingen; in 1811 he was made general superintendent at Ohringen, in 1823 at Urach, and died at Tubingen, July 7, 1829. He wrote, Philosophische Untersuchung uber die letzten Grunde unseres Glaubens an-Gott ,(Heilbronn, 1818 ):  Philosophische Untersuchung uber die Verbindung der Menschen mit hoheren Geistern (Stuttg. 17-791)  Ausfurliche Darstellung des Grundes unseres Glaubens an Unsterblichkeit (Frankf. 1828).
