(2) Translated in the New Testament from the following Greek words: bdelussomai, which is derived from bdeo, to stink (Rom 2:22); apostugeo, derived from stugeo, to hate, to shrink from (Rom 12:9).<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: International Standard Bible Encyclopedia<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<h2>Abhor<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p> denotes &#8220;to shudder&#8221; (apo, &#8220;from,&#8221; here used intensively, stugeo, &#8220;to hate&#8221;) hence, &#8220;to abhor,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Rom 12:9<\/span>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to render foul&#8221; (from bdeo, &#8220;to stink&#8221;), &#8220;to cause to be abhorred&#8221; (in the Sept. in <span class='bible'>Exo 5:21<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Lev 11:43<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Lev 20:25<\/span>, etc.), is used in the Middle Voice, signifying &#8220;to turn oneself away from&#8221; (as if from a stench); hence, &#8220;to detest,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Rom 2:22<\/span>.
