Ahiah (friend of Jehovah); (1Sa 14:3), son of Ahitub, and high-priest in the reign of Saul, and brother and predecessor of the Abimelech whom Saul slew for assisting David. Seeing that Abimelech was also high-priest in the same reign, and was also the son of Ahitub (1Sa 22:11), some have thought that both names belonged to the same person; but this seems less likely than the explanation which has just been given.<\/p>\n
