Once it is used of setting subjects before one&#8217;s hearers by way of argument and proof, of Paul, in &#8220;opening and alleging&#8221; facts concerning Christ, <span class='bible'>Act 17:3<\/span>. See COMMEND, COMMIT, PUT, SET. <\/p>\n<p> Note: Lego is rendered &#8220;put forth&#8221; in the AV of <span class='bible'>Luk 14:7<\/span>; but lego signifies &#8220;to speak;&#8221; hence, the RV, &#8220;spake.&#8221; The AV seems to be an imitation of paratithemi in <span class='bible'>Mat 13:24<\/span>, <span class='bible'>Mat 13:31<\/span>.
