H., March 28,1801. He experienced religion at the age. of twenty-three while pursuing a medical education; received license to preach in his twenty- eighth year; and in 1843 entered the Troy Conference, which he served faithfully for a number of years, and then, taking a supernumerary relation, resumed the practice of medicine. In 1870 he retired to Schuylerville, where he died, June 13, 1873. Mr. Atwell was a good man, true to God and his Church. He was an able minister, and much beloved.
