He took refuge in Holland after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes; :and published a translation of the Life f Michael Ruyter, by Brandt, in 1698:  Dictionnaire de Marine (Amsterd. 1702) :- Histoire des Diables de Loudun;. on, De la Possession des Religieuses Ursulines, et de la Condamination et du Supplice draumbain Grandier, Cure de-la meme Ville (ibid. 1693). This subject, which met with a great- deal of success, was afterwards published under the titles of Cruels Effets de la Vengeance du Cardinal de Richelieu (ibid.
