There is a great diversity of opinions concerning the person of this Zacharias, the son of Barachias.<\/p>\n<p>Some think him to be Zacharias, the son of Jehoiada, who was killed by the orders of Joash, between the temple and the altar, 2Ch 24:21. Campbell thinks, with Father Simon, that Jehoiada had two names, Barachias and Jehoiada.
