In Luk 16:6, the Greek form  occurs, where it is rendered measure. According to Josephus (), it contained 72 sextarii (Ant. 8:2, 9). Its ordinary capacity appears to have been 8 gals. 3 qts. It contained 8 gallons 3 quarts of our measure. &#8220;Ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath&#8221; (<span class='bible'>Isa. 5:10<\/span>) denotes great unproductiveness.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Easton&#8217;s Bible Dictionary<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<h2>Bath (1)<\/h2>\n<p>Washing was required by the law for purification of uncleanness of any kind, as leprosy, etc. (Leviticus 15; Lev 16:28; Lev 22:6; Num 19:7; Num 19:19; 2Sa 11:2; 2Sa 11:4; 2Ki 5:10); mourning (Rth 3:3; 2Sa 12:20). The high priest on the day of atonement, before each act of expiation (Lev 16:4; Lev 16:24); also at his own consecration (Lev 8:6). Anointing with perfumes was joined to the washing (Est 2:12). The laver at the door of the tabernacle was for the priests to wash in before entering (Exo 30:18-20). The legal ritual prescribed washing, not bathing; also sprinkling.
