He received a careful bringing-up, experienced conversion at the age of seventeen, and was licensed to exhort in 1813. He served in the war with Great Britain, and became a backslider. He purchased a farm in 1818, in Stockbridge, N. Y. He rejoined the Church in 1820, and was relicensed to exhort; was licensed to preach in 1822, and employed one year by the presiding elder, and in 1828 entered the Oneida Conference. He served the following charges: Palatine and East Brockett&#8217;s Bridge, Camden, Lebanon, Brookfield, Norwich, Westmoreland, Litchfield, Deansville and Clinton, Sangerfield, Augusta, Smyrna, Hamilton, Brookfield (again), Onondaga, Onondaga Mission, Camillus, Lowell, Westmoreland (again), Bennett&#8217;s Corners and Indian Missions; and in 1858 was superannuated. He lived in Verona until 1874, and then went to Augusta, N.Y., where he remained until his decease, Jan. 30, 1880. Mr. Beach was a man of great influence, excellence of character, superior ministerial gifts, sound judgment, ready command of language, and pleasing address.
