He received his early education at a German gymnasium, came to this country in 1869, and after completing his academical studies at Watertown, Wis., he entered the theological seminary at St. Louis, Mo. In 1873 he accepted a call to Springfield, Ill.; went in 1875 to Davenport, Ia., and from thence in 1878 to El Paso, Ill. He died March 13, 1881, at Memphis, Tenn. (B.
